Novice is assigned automatically on signup. Expert and Master tiers are earned through sustained contribution and granted by admins — not by XP alone.

Master

Masters are long-standing contributors who mentor authors, guide releases, and represent NeuroTechQuest in the community.

Community discussions on Discord

Instead of building a forum from scratch, we host conversations on Discord — free infrastructure, real-time chat, and channels for problems, theory, and tooling. Ask questions, share insights, and collaborate with other learners.

How content reaches learners

Draft in CMS

Build your submission in Content Submissions: problem statement, starter code, theory links, hints, and test cases.

Submit → GitHub PR

One click opens a branch and pull request. Your draft is tracked on the platform.

Review & merge

Maintainers review on GitHub. We validate the content, run tests, and merge the pull request.

Release to learners

Once there is enough content, we release a new version with your problems synced to production.

Contribution guidelines

We encourage

• Clear learning objectives and neuroscience context
• Reusing theory blocks via theory_refs when possible
• Runnable Python with typed starter code and test cases
• Stable content_uid values for long-lived progress tracking

Please avoid

• Trivial or duplicate problems without new learning value
• Unverified scientific claims or missing citations
• Editing merged Git content only in the CMS (Git remains canonical)
• Copyright or trademark violations
